Website Terms of Use
Last updated: 3 September 2026
These terms cover https://diskpast.com (the “Site”). Software use is governed by the Software License (EULA). Money, tax, and Polar Checkout are governed by Polar’s Checkout Buyer Terms. Contact: legal@diskpast.com.
Order of documents
If they conflict: Polar’s Buyer Terms control the Transaction (payment, tax, Polar refunds). The EULA controls the Windows software license. These Site terms control browsing, accounts, and our APIs. Nothing here is meant to waive a consumer right you cannot waive under the law that applies to you.
Purchase
You buy DiskPast from Polar Software, Inc., merchant of record. Polar’s checkout, tax, receipt, refund, and chargeback rules apply to the payment. DiskPast does not charge your card and does not see card numbers. Polar emails the tax receipt. The license key is shown on this Site (checkout success and /account), not as a second Polar “key email.”
Accounts
Website accounts are optional. You may sign in with Google (also subject to Google’s terms) or any email via a magic link or a password (accounts are created through Supabase). You must be able to receive mail at that address. Do not share the account. We may suspend an account that attacks the Site, scrapes license keys, or probes activation APIs beyond your own key.
Acceptable use
Do not interfere with the Site or license APIs, mine keys, or impersonate another buyer. Rate limits and blocks may apply. The Windows app talks to /api/license/activate, /deactivate, and /refresh with a key and a hashed device id — that is expected; scripted abuse is not.
Intellectual property
DiskPast, the logo, and the Site design are ours (or licensed to us). Polar’s marks are Polar’s. You get no right to those marks except as needed to use the Site. The software is licensed, not sold; see the EULA.
Availability
The Site is provided as available. We do not warrant uninterrupted access. Polar or our database host may be unavailable. After a successful activation, the Windows app has a limited offline grace (see the EULA and /activate). That grace is not a refund and is not an unpaid trial.
Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Site is provided “as is.” We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or data loss on your disk arising from Site use. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited (for example death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud, where that is the law).
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page is the current version. Continued use of the Site after a posted change is acceptance of the new terms, except where the law requires a different process.
